Krampusnacht (cramp-us-knock-ed) is a holiday celebrated by Satanists and non-Satanists across the world every year on December 5th. It is all about celebrating and partying with friends, dressed in costumes of mythical creatures. Think of Halloween, but instead of trick-or-treating and candy, it's all about the costumes, festivals, and parties.
Krampus in folklore is basically the opposite of Santa. He is a goat figure that kidnaps children who misbehave, unlike Santa who gives kids presents. Thankfully Krampus is not real, so people will happily dress up like him and have fun doing it at festivals and parties. Some people will get drunk together, while others will just dance and have fun marching together.
Many hateful and religious groups claim that Krampusnacht is about hurting and beating children, which is not true at all. Krampusnacht is all about celebrating and having fun in costume, as opposed to celebrating violence or death.
